Anza Borrego Desert State Park – Agave Dawn

Agave Dawn

The recurrent birth of our home star in the east often provides a visual feast for the eyes of those up early (as rendered here from California’s Anza Borrego Desert State Park … the setting for this Agave Dawn). The previous evening I scouted around the desert floor attempting to pre-visualize what might be used as props, backdrops and settings for the next day’s session … the potential raw materials from which to draw. This agave and the nearby vegetation looked as if it could work. The next morning, the clanging from the alarm clock clarioned the rapidly approaching day and the pre-dawn light held promise. I went to work filming. The light was intoxicating. Weeks later, the chemically-altered celluloid found its way back from the processor and Agave Dawn was there as visualized.
