Bat-eared Fox – The Antennae-equipped Creature

The Antennae-equipped Creature

The Bat-eared Fox leisurely trotted through the arid African woodland when suddenly it paused, turned and scanned the area with its keen eyes and vigilant ears.  In fact, the latter is the Bat-eared Foxes’ most notable physical feature.  Its prodigious pinnae are capable of gathering the subtle sounds made by termites, ants and beetles, all primary food sources for this insectivorous canid.  Whatever caught this plucky predator’s attention wasn’t readily revealed to any nearby human ears as the antennae-equipped creature turned and quickly disappeared into the Tanzanian Serengeti.
