Herring Gull – To Swallow A Star

To Swallow A Star

Waiting with anticipation, hopeful that a Eurasian Otter would show up, a newcomer of another kind arrived.  The Herring Gull walked with a composed presence to a pile of seaweed and briskly began sorting through the tangle of kelp.  Within seconds the gull stabbed at the heap and retrieved a starfish, which was consummately gulped down.  The act demonstrated how to swallow a star.
