An American Red Squirrel gives a quick pause while it diligently hastens the forest’s dense mid-canopy. The perky rodent is a common component of North America’s coniferous woodlands. The species was also the central subject of a Disney motion picture titled “Perri”, an adaptation of a story written by Austrian author Felix Salten.
